THE HEAT IS ON
As Ella Fitzgerald once sang, it's too darn hot, and why I'm sitting here drinking tea is anyone's guess. Anyway, the Universe is flowing a bit better now thanks to a trip to the Fanclub on Thurs for 60s tunes, dancing, water and, er, some other stuff.
So earlier in the week I hooked up with some old friends; Geoff Dick, Grant Tasker, Weezer and the Brixton Academy. The Weez were good! They opened with Tired Of Sex which got everyone fired up for ROCK. Plus they played Getchoo (with Brian on vocals) and some other stuff. Although what I've heard off the new album seems pants, the newies they played mixed pretty well with the rest of the set. Much singing along and smiling ensued, even if Geoff MADE me buy him a beer during the encore. The swine.
Elsewhere, I've been re-assesing the past, keeping the place tidy, cutting out unnecessary noise and letting Calexico paint pictures in my head with their wonderful, wonderful music. Went out with Melton police on Friday night as well, but all you need to know about that is if they banned alcohol then I wouldn't mind as long as long as it meant less cunts on the streets at night.
God it's hot.
